GTyankee,

I saw that plug and I am going to remove it in the AM to see if it has any relationship to what the rear door has.

Thanks, and good night.

I took a cruise through the service manual, and it has less information and diagrams then what GTyankee posted, so it's of no practical use.

I think your on the right track by checking out the plug GT mentioned, and possibly removing the lock assembly...and one of the rear ones for comparison. It may be possible to re-route/re-attach the inside handle control rod to an alternate location on the lock. It wouldn't surprise me if the lock systems were someway generic and offered different 'options' based on where the rod the connected. This may become a 'project' with no determined outcome, but may yield some excellent information for the future.

When you investigating this, take lots of pix. This could turn out to be great mod for someone else that needs that option.

This thread went downhill fast. OP my wife is a 1st Grade teacher and specializes in children with Autism. Every child is a gift and as fathers we want to protect them. Sorry to hear of your scare but at least you were on it and able to keep her in the truck.

Don't let a random person on an internet message board get your riled up. Sometimes we don't know how bad a person's situation in life is or why the lash out at others when there are no repercussions as there would be in a face to face interaction.

Please keep the conversation to asked. The OP didn't come here to be told how to raise his daughter and it is no one's business or place to do so. Period. He asked a question, lets just answer that.

This sort of thing is NOT what this forumz is about and if anyone would like to challenge that be my guest. We will show you what happens when you keep it up.

Thank you and carry on........

Sorry to hear of your issues, ignore the ignorant. If you need to help just ask anyone who don't like it can suck an egg or better yet skip your posts.

Keep your head up, be there for your daughter, and Happy Fathers Day (late)

It seems like my old cars Viper alarm would automatically unlock all the doors when the car was turned off and like the ram. It also locked them a couple seconds after starting the car too. I do not know if it will work for you but maybe you can do something like that and just use the alarm systems door lock features so maybe pulling the handle from the inside will not allow the door to open unless its unlocked..

Than again, I am assuming that this is probably the first time in 18 years that she has done something like this and it freaked you out enough to post about it here to make sure it will not happen again. In a day or 2 you will calm down and go on about your life as you always have and she may or may not try to do the same thing again.. Best thing you can do is just keep as close of an eye on her as you can while driving.
