Default Winter Tire & Rim Inquiry

Hey,

I am going to purchase 4 new tires and rims for the RAM for the winter months. i was just wondering if i should stick to 20's ?

I know my wife's car uses 16's in the summer months but for the winter she uses 15's.

Thanks
Mark

I'd go narrower and taller on a 17" or 18" rim for winter driving, especially if you get a lot of snow.

Go with 17's; you will get better traction. Besides, the tires are cheaper with a better selection.

we get a good bit of snow here...I didn't change my tires, but then again I run 275/70/18 a/t's....they wouldn't plow on Sunday night, so I'd just throw it in 4 high and keep on truckin

Default Winter and Tire Chains

Am thinking of a winter set of wheels as well. I have heard that 17" tires is as large as I should go if I ever intend to use tire chains. Hunting season leads to some backcountry situations, and sometimes chains are necessary to get around out there.

Then again, that LSD may help things out a bit.
