Default Please help I need an answer!

Okay, so I have a question... I dunno if its just my truck but my buddy has an 09 Chevy 5.3 If we race from 0 I beat him everytime, on the other hand if we race from 60 he's sometimes faster, have another buddy with an 05 1500HD with the 6.0. From 0 I like RAPE him... From 70+ hes faster than me! I cant help but think maybe im losing power in my tranny somewhere, but its aggregating lol I also get inconsistent runs with my tranny... with my gears now if i stomp from 0 i shift into third around 71 72, if i stomp from 60 it will shift into third around 82, why the difference? Anyone else have similar problems?

Its your gears... Im thinking? They proly have 3.73's i think? So they may be making more power up at 60 mph than you, i would suggest a power adder.

Did the 4th Gen Hemi change that much? My truck will toast my buddies '07 Silverado with the 5.3 from 0 or rolling, and I have 3.55's.

I have trouble getting power between 40 and 55 MPH's. It does not always do it but sometimes the truck will surge, bog down like it searching for a gear then take off when I am in that range. But from 0 or 60 roll I have no problem taking off. Anyone else have this problem?

Sorry didnt mean to hijack your thread. It sounds like the gearing in your truck isnt allowing you to have much top end power.

Get some longtube headers that should get you some extra high end HP! Also look into a custom tune if you do get some new headers.

3rd is the weak gear and you want to avoid going into OD when WOT. When you stomp from 60 you are prob going into 2P (no no).
When you are going from idle then you are going through 1-2-3 up shifts which is fine.

Gears only help so much and its mostly 1-2. 3rd gear the truck will start to fall on its face. You need TQ to get that barge moving and hp to continue. Our aerodynamics is not exactly top tier either.

I dunno... Maybe im leaning out on the top end so i pull hard low rpms and lose power on the top end?

From your sig I don't see what mods really provide you any top end to actually lose.
