Default Looking to Install New Headers, Need advice.

So I am a pretty much a noob here. I have stock headers on now. Looking to gradually modding to my truck to increase performance. Where should I start looking as far as headers go? Brand? Also, how much HP could I expect to gain when installing after-market headers? I may want to upgrade my Flowmasters to something better also. Any suggestions? Thanks for the advice.

long tubes if you can afford it, they perform better then mids or shortys. Pacesetters ( I run these), hedmans... also, change those flows out to something straight through like magnaflows (I run this too)

How do the magnaflows sound compared to flowmasters? I saw some Pacesetters and Hedmans on Summit for $300 to 500.

Do you have any other mods on the truck right now? Say a CAI, tune, or exhaust? Headers are certainly a great performance mod; however, you will see much more gains from the headers with some supporting mods. I myself am looking at getting a set of pacesetter longtube headers with the matching y-pipe.

the flows tend to sound 'different' at wot while the mags have a refined muscular sound at wot..I just couldn't get use to the flow sound..plus, they made me run slower in the 1/4...

flows

mags

I have a set of DynaTech long tube headers on my truck running thru a Flowmaster 3 inch setup. It def sounds pretty sick and loud as hell..Depends on what your looking for as far as spending too. The Dynatech setup is not cheap by any means, I just got lucky nd bought them from someone who never installed.

You got the CAI and muffler, throw on some long tubes and a tune and you will be all set.
