Default Where's the wiring?

I have an 07 1500 QC. I have my build sheet from Dodge and it shows that I DO have the towing package. I have all the extra coolers up front, tow/haul mode, and the 3.92 gears. When I bought the truck, it did not have a hitch or the 7-pin factory plug-in; it only had the 4-pin connector behind the bumper. I installed a hitch, and I have just been using the 4-pin connector. I guess this really isn't a "problem", it's just been on my mind. Where are the factory wires? Could they have been removed by the previous owner? Why would they do that? Is it worth buying the factory harness (I assume this is possible), or am I just missing something? Thanks for reading and any help is appreciated!

A lot of times the "towing package" wiring is encased in a plastic bag and thrown under a seat. This would include the harness adapter and a 7-pin connector. Mine was installed when I got my truck.

Let's see a pic of your back bumper, right around the license plate light area.

WOW That's the first Ram I have ever seen with no trailer wiring plug beside the license plate. I just assumed that they all had it...with or without the towing package.

Looks like someone didn't PDI your truck properly when new, cause its missing stuff if its supposed to have it.

A lot of the Gen 2 & 3 just came with the 4 pin connector, that just hangs down like yours did or does

You can buy a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter

Have Fun

If your not going to run the extra wires to the rear for a true 7 wire, just use it the way you have been. To pull something with electric brakes. You`ll have to run wires from the cab.
