Default Driving a Toyota

So I had an odd experience I felt I would share with the Z community. Tonight me and my fiance decided to go out for a couple drinks in the city before we move. By the city I mean Chicago. So we decide to take her 2011 Toyota Highlander instead of my Ram just for ease of parking it, as parking in Chicago is a clusterf*@K. So we're walking out the door and she asks me to drive like she always has. Well since I've owned my Ram I havent driven her car or even been in it for that matter. We both agree we like driving the Ram better. So I get behind the wheel and notice right off the bat the size difference. Which is expected, but this thing felt like I was driving a friggin sports car. Me and her were fighting over arm rest space the whole way into the city LOL. The other thing I noticed was just how low to the ground I felt and how much more of the road I could see in front of the hood. Im used to the long hood of my Ram and this thing has a very low sloped hood. It was just a weird experience and I didnt like it one bit LOL But also realized I enjoy my 98 ram way way way more than I do her 2011 Highlander. Thank you dodge for making a quality product

It is interesting, especially when you get used to the room in the cab and the ride height of the Ram, tough to go back to much less drive anything else! Cool story man.

I feel the exact same way every time I get in and out of my wife's Honda CR-V. Completely different world (in a good way) even riding in it. Thank God for Dodge Rams!!

Between our 2 half tons and the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks at work that I drive on a daily basis, I feel weird and strangely unsafe riding or driving anything smaller then a half ton pickup or SUV.

I spent all week with my boss in his 09 GMC Sierra. I'll say this for the GM, very comfortable seats but that's about all. I found the noise level in the cab to be much higher than the Ram, highway ride was pretty close but the real difference in the trucks was sheer horsepower. You don't realize how nice the Hemi is until your behind the wheel of a truck that doesn't have one. I also found the layout of controls and what not was all done as an after thought, almost totally disorganized and there were switches in the strangest places. I had to drive for a bit and found the truck actually felt heavy. I almost felt sorry for my boss as every time he made me drive he heard me say "I miss my Ram and this POS doesn't have a HEMI in it!" Good thing we get along great or I would have had to take the bus home!

it's just a matter of perspective, but I too know where you're coming from..

One of the things that I don't like about my wife's Challenger is the fact that believe it or not it feels larger (wider) than my Ram. I also feel like I'm going a lot faster than the speedo claims is true... 25MPH feels like close to 40MPH to me...

My wife drive my truck the other day to pick me up from work... she noticed the same thing. She says the truck feel bigger (probably because it is bigger), but she also found like she was going a lot faster than she thought... at one point she caught herself doing 52MPH when she thought she was doing 35MPH.

Oh well, she sticks to her Chally, and I stick to my Ram. She doesn't mind riding in the Ram, and will drive it occasionally. I'm pretty sure when we go to Atlanta next month she'll be doing her share of the driving

My wife's car is a Civic and honestly it feels like a toy when I drive it. Even my parents mini van feels low and small and I used to think it was a decent size. LOL
