Default Wow, 9.4mpg from my 2011 4.7L with 300 miles....

I'm a little bent about it but its still breaking in. I don't drive it hard or easy, no oil change yet as there are only 40X miles on it. I just drove it from full to empty and got 9.4mpg. My frustration is kinda high right now. I am just filling up with non ethanol 89 octane gasoline and we'll see how she does. I just put 96 bucks in the tank from full to light and I'm going to drive it to a half a tank and see what the sucker gets after that. Again, its not driving it hard all the time but it was literally ALL city driving. City I want to get 13mpg or so and wouldn't have a problem with more but 9.4 is ridiculously low to me. Anyone else get this in the first few thousand miles of your engine being broken in???

Mods are 2.5" leveling kit, 44psi tires all around, (not a mod I know) new Magnaflow straight through muffler, and window flares. Other than that, bone stock.

I have the hemi in mine, and over the first 700 miles I bet 600 of that was city miles, and I was getting about 12. Once I finally got some highway miles on it, the mpg's went up slightly. Now around 14 mpg with 2265 miles on it.

I'm surprised more displacement would get better mph's than lower.

First half tank, I averaged 16mpg or so, but this was after muffler so maybe I was just into the gas too much to hear that thing roar!!!

I don't know what I get in my Hemi Ram (ST so no computer)....but our new SRT8 will get 23 @ 70....as long as you can stay out of it, but it's so hard not to hear the 6.1 growl

I've got the 5.7 Hemi in my Laramie. 3000 miles and I average about 14.5 mpg. Mix of city and highway.

I've got a 2011 5.7 Hemi SLT 4x4 and am averaging 17-19 mpg. with a mix of city and highway. Gets better mileage my 4.7 Dakota 4x2! MDS makes a big difference. So does listening to that exhaust growl!!

I'm just done filling it up and cleaning it so we'll see how we do on this tank to up the MPG's I'm gonna go 5 over on the psi for driving as I'm only driving city and no highway to heat the tires up really, Im running 87 octane of pure gasoline, not that ethanol crap, and I'm getting a tranny code re-flashed tomorrow. We'll see if it makes the difference or not. Maybe I just got too giddy when that magnaflow went in and I was in it too heavy.....or somebody stole my gas.
