Default Another Ipod Question

I have done a search and received many different answers.
I have a new Ipod, and the top of the line radio (nav, bluetooth,HDD).
Can I use the cable that came with the Ipod that connects it to my computer, which doesen't seem to work when I plug it in the usb in the upper glove. Or do I need to buy a MOPAR cable ($30.) so I can see all my songs and control the Ipod from the radio.

What iPod? What head unit (RER or RHR)?

I have the 730N RHR. When I plug my iPod Classic (latest gen) into either USB port, it won't play. All the songs will show up on the head unit, the Ram logo appears on my iPod, but it says "STOPPED" in red letter on the bottom left of the head unit. I can not get it to play. However, I tried that same iPod on another truck with the same RHR unit, and it played fine.

My, iPhone 4, however, works fine in my truck.

Oh, and just the regular white USB iPod cable is all you're supposed to need.

I have the 430N RHB radio.
Both a Classic and a Ipod 4.
Neither will work, Just reread the manual and they say Ipod control works with 730N RER and mentions no other.
I know I can use the front aux port but thought I could use the glove box usb.

I have an RBZ head unit with a 3rd generation iPod Touch. It works fine. Use whatever cable you like. I have used the white Apple cable as well as a $2 cable I bought from Deal Extreme in China with the same results. DO NOT pay $30 for one!

The new Ipod is upgraded and fresh out of the box the radio doesn't even see it. Is anyone with the 430N RHB radio able to use the USB port and see all their music from the radio screen ?

I hve the rhb radio and my ipod touch 2ng gen with the latest updates will not play either. Kind of frustrating, but then I just put all the music on the hdd.

I agree, very fustrating. My friend has a Nissan, plugs in his ipod and it is like looking at the ipod screen, all his music, playlists are there for the picking, you pay for the best head unit Dodge has to offer and you can't get it to play an ipod, I can go to Target and spent 39.00 for an ipod player, WTF.

Back Again, I still think you need a MOPAR cable. What purpose is a USB port if it is useless ?

Mine is run into the glove box and works fine.. But it's an iphone, which brings me to a problem.

I can sync it through the u connect, but problem is if the screen is lit up it plays like you're holding down the ff button on a disc.
