Default Woohoo! Got my new truck!

Hey guys, new to the forum and have been enjoying reading everything.

Just picked up my new truck from Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg Idaho and I love it.

I don't know if it was a great price but from my research I believe it was. I got a Crew Cab SLT 4x4 with a 4.7 for $26995 plus tax. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but I'm cool with that.

This is my third dodge and my first brand new vehicle ever. At the moment I really want to put a spray in Bedliner on, leveling kit and 3m the front hood. Ive read on here that the HBS leveling kit is the way to go. Anybody disagree? Also any advice on the break in period? Dealer said "no cruise control the first 500 miles otherwise drive it like you stole it" does that seem right?

By the way if your in the market for a new car check out Dave Smith, they don't sell cars over invoice and they are the largest dodge dealer in the world. The price they give you is a no hassle price and they have more selection on hand then most places sell in a year.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance

congrats and welcome to the forum, you will really like it here i found i love it!! But this thread is usless without pictures!!

That price is really good i seen trucks go for 29-30 slt 4.7 in my area!

And for the break in? Thats realllly bad advice new engines shouldn't go over 4,500 rpm at minimum from what i know!! as for cruise control idk?

Spray in bedliners? I bothered my dealer enough and they put mine in for free i'm going to pick up my truck today in about 2 hours LOL. But if you're dealer won't do it. Check Craigslist for guys who do it, i know a guy here in houston i found him off craigslist, for $75 he gets you a full spray in liner in 3 colors of your choice, White, Black, Red, and i'm sure there was blue i'm not sure

Again Congrats and welcome!

Welcome to the forum. They say if you do run on the freeway, vary your speed and don't cruise for miles and miles at the same speed.

Some folks would say that to break it in properly, a few WOT blasts prior to the first 500 miles having gone by is suggested. Also, no towing for the first 500.

I bought my minivan from Dave Smith. Great dealer, but really hard to find anything other than bare bones basic models. Their pricing is right though. Have fun with the truck.
