Default DIY Window Tint?

Bought my wife a new Altima and it has 0 tint anywhere. So she wants some added. I was wondering who has done it themselves, where the best place to get it? Anyone tried the precut? Willing to give it a try, probably do my truck while I was at it.

Years ago I tried to tint my own windows... total failure!

I'll gladly pay the $70-80 bucks (price depends on quality of the tint and # of windows)

Most places offer life time warranty.

Hoe this helps... good luck!

I recently tinted the upstairs windows in my house.

This was using custom pre-cut tint rectangles, on a nice flat surface.

If you start working with a roll of tint on odd shapes, that are curved surface and difficult to reach you might wind up with a total disaster.

Do yourself a favor, take it to someone...

Do it yourself can quickly become do it to yourself when it comes to window tinting.

Glad to see you are willing to sacrifice the wife's car before attempting on your Ram. Agree with everyone else though, this is definitely a job for a professional if you want something that will last the life of your vehicle.

Not worth trying yourself unless you have experience. Even the gentle curves in side window glass can give you fits. I have done it, the results were acceptable but I wouldn't do it again.

I love the don't try it unless you have experience. Isn't that a chicken and the egg senario?
I have done alot of things for the first time, that most wouldn't ever consider. I took a brand new motorcycle, and repainted it, I had never touched a paint gun before. I turned out a show quality paint job.

You never know what you are capable of doing if you don't try.

Go for it if you want. Worst case scenario is you take it off later if it doesn't work out. If it does, you are golden. Nice job on the bike.

For me, it's just too cheap to pay someone for a nice looking tint. I don't want the hassle of dealing with a bad job (oh no, bubbles!). BUT, it's your vehicle. If you feel comfortable, go for it. It's not like you're going to do irreparable damage or anything.
