Default Hi lift jack mount?

Hi Guys,

First post here. I was checking to see how / where you guys that have
a hi lift jack mount it?
What mount setup is available? Probably looking to mount it inside my bed
rather than on my bumper but I'm open to suggestions.
Any info/pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Mark

I used U-bolts and had it mounted to my tool box. It rattled alot which was an easy fix but my Hi-lift weathered alot to the point it was almost ruined. Back inside the tool box it went taking up alot more room then I would like.

I never had issues with corrosion on mine on my jeep, and it had no top, but I did make sure to grease it regularly, and touch up the powdercoat with paint if it chipped. They do make a sleeve too that you can put on the jack to protect it if it is exposed.

I don't have one for my truck, but I would think mounting it to your tool box, or to the tailgate would be good options. I know one member mounted it to the side of the truck bed, but I would hate to introduce an opportunity for rust in the bed. If the tailgate rusted, it is easier to replace. JMHO.

I made up some steel bent into two U shapes with a hasp on it that I could lock through. Gonna weld 'em on the truck box and padlock the jack to the truck box.

What ^^he^^ said... I had one mounted on the roof rack of my Wrangler for years with no problems at all... but you can't just stow it and forget it. I used to pull it down and grease the working parks every 6 months, and every other year or so I'd repaint it. The jack is over 10 years old now and still works great!

Not the greatest pic, but you can see the red hi lift in the back where the back seat would normally have gone. Stayed there at all times for 7 years.
