Default Power Steering Pump

I have been hearing alot that dodge's have trouble with the power steering, my first pump went out, and I'm not sure if they didn't flush out the lines or what. But a couple weeks after the second pump went out. I'm looking to buy a new pump and lines. But the power steering still works, just a small whinging so I'm not really willing to spend alot on a new pump, I found some remanufactured ones for like $50, has anyone had experience with these, do they work well? Are they trustworthy? And what would you suggest, buying new, buying remanufactured, or maybe just buying from a junkyard.

I'd go with used from the auto recyclers....with a caveat. As long as they offer a warranty...even if it's only 48hours. Last thing you want is a used 'defective' pump.

I prefer to purchase new, but if the price is right and it comes with some sort of warranty then used is a good option. Junk yard parts can sometimes be a gamble.

I've had trouble with a very noisy power steering pump for a year now. When I bought the truck, I didn't hear anything, but a couple weeks later, it was very loud. The fluid was dark and nasty looking. I replaced it, flushed it, and then a couple months later, the noise was back loud again. I flushed it all out and filled with clean fluid, bled it, and had clean fluid once again, but the noise didn't go away. Next I'm going to try to see if there is a blockage in the system. The steering works perfectly and always has, so I don't know whats up, but it really bothers me that I paid too much for the truck and then have all thios trouble.
