Default Turn Signal Short

Just found this forum and Thank the Lord for it!

I have a very frustrating issue that I can not track down. My right turn signal goes crazy only when I have the running lights on, and the brake pedal depressed. Here is what happens: with the light on, I come up to an intersection, apply my brakes and put on the right turn signal. In the cab, it gives me a fast click like a bulb is burned out. Outside, the rear signal lights begin to blink back and forth like a train crossing. This inclused the brake lights, reverse lights and turn signal lamps. It does not happen with the running lights off, and does not happen with a left signal. it does not happen with the hazards on, but will happen with the hazards on, and the running on also.

The only thing that I can think of is the turn signal switch. According to my Haynes manual, the whole thing is sold-state so it couldn't be a computer board or anything like.

Unfortunately, this is not a fix I can manage myself, as I would probably detonate the airbag and turn myself into baby powder covered mush. can anyone suggest a way to troubleshoot this down so that I don't get bent over by the dealership?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Default turn signal

Have you looked at the FRONT right turn signal lamp to see if it is ok? Afront bulb burned out can cause this.
