Default Any Recommendations for Streetable Underdrive Pulley

I feel like doing a few more bolt on after doing my I/H/E and programmer the beginning of the year I'm thinking Flex-a-lite 183 fan, underdrive pulley and throttle body. What is the recommendations for underdrive pulley's I see the Summit Racing has a decent name and price but is steel. I'm used to the pulley's on imports where they claim most of the gains are actually from going from a heavy steel pulley to a very light aluminum with only minimal gains from the actual underdrive. How are the gains and stuff on the Ram?

I recommend the Summit c2516 as a very good underdrive and is SFI approved. Lot of fast 5.7L's run them but its considered a supporting mod to compliment bigger mods like cam/heads/stroker etc
IMO - First and foremost you want to get a under drive that is a harmonic balancer first and pulley second or bye bye toner ring.

ATI is another good option.

I'm running the summit on my 05, it it substantially lighter than oem because of the smaller diameter. Engine revs quicker and I will also be doing the 183 fan in spring, good supporting mod. If you do a TB, look into the Fastman ones, real nice work and less than all the others.

Ok good to know I'll probably start ordering this week. And my mods will be supporting my 6.1 stock block with a set of 5.7 Heads done up as soon as I send the heads out to be done with a decent cam. So should be a nasty truck in the spring I hope.

I'm just curious, why the 5.7L heads rather than the 6.1L heads? The 6.1s have slightly better flow characteristics, even at the lower lifts and the core charge is only $250 more.

Well for one I got the 6.1 short block for a really good price, almost free. I have several 5.7 heads laying around for cores. And since it's in a street truck that I still tow with and use as a truck occasionally I want the most usable torque still down low. From everybody I've talked to and read the 6.1 heads are really too big and would be great in a bigger displacement motor or something that is spending all it's time at high RPM's. For just a little more money that what people want for used 6.1 heads I can send mine out to get a mild port and a good valve job. And fast freddie's is pretty dam nasty I don't think I'll need quite all that but you never know maybe one day. To add to it I'm also going to try researching the 09+ Intake mani to see how well they flow with the hopes of getting the dual intake runners to function, assuming they are just using a simple on/off valve that can be hooked up to a simple rpm switch.
