Angry OEM Side Step Install / Removal

So while trying to sell my OEM steps, I found that the OEM tube steps use whats called a Rivet Nut to hold the mounting bolts in the frame. They Collapse inside the hole in the frame to provide a mounting point. Well, there are 12 of these needed to mount Quad and Crew cab steps. They CANNOT be taken out and re-used on another truck. They are also VERY EXPENSIVE!!!! Amazon had a 5 pack for 12.90
http://www.amazon.com/M8-1-25-Nut-Ri.../dp/B000NEAK08
For 5! you need 12, the dealer is around 5 bucks each.

They sound pretty easy to mount, but i also read on another thread that they can be messed up easily if you rush.

SOOOOO....needless to say, I don't think they will sell tomorrow and I should probably order these rivet nuts so the next guy can actually mount the side steps! Just felt like sharing!

Here is the install link...it IS from another forum, but I couldn't find any on here and didn't want to steal this guys thunder!

Rivet nuts are a pain to install using a bolt & 2 wrenches. Its a good workout though. I never had to install enough of them to justify buying the pneumatic installer.
