Default wheel and tire selection

Hey guys im new to this forum but i have been on other forums before. so id like to introduce myself first. Im 23 years old live in a small town in wyoming and i just bought my brand new dodge ram 1500. so now to the question at hand. Im usually the type of guy that like to go with big wheels, small tires and lowered vehicle. So i am totally lost when it comes to big tires and lifting vehicles. this is why i have decided to ask for help. I want to put either 20x12 or 22x11 wheels and some nice big toyo mud tires on. i would like to know whats the biggest i can go with just a leveling kit and or should i actually lift my truck for better fitments? if anyone has done this to their trucks id love to see what they look like. i appreciate all your help guys.

Well, i'm not sure on exact measurement of how big ya can go, but normally if your going with the big tire look and you don't wanna lift it, it's best to go with the smaller rim that you want. So go with the 20", and i'm confident you can probably rock a 285/70/20 on it. That will most likely be toward the largest you can go on it though.

My own personal knowledge is this:
I have 17s, stock tires were 265/70/17... the LARGEST I could go in the wheel well was 315/70/17. I ended up with the 285s and i'm pretty happy with it.
