Default 92 power ram no power to ignition please helplp

were both mechanic well i'm more of a body man but we we have a nice 92 power ram 150 4 wheel drive. it only has 54,000 miles on it. we were driving it the other day and it lost all electrical power going thru the switch. we bought a new switch from the dodge dealer still does same thing nothing no gauges starter won't engage and no power t the engine has to be something simple we just can't find it. all the wires look good. from the list i looked at regerstering it looks like it has to be a magnum 318 automatic 4 wheel drive.its too nice a truck to let sit any help would be appreciated.thanks in advance.

It's not a magnum, the magnum's didn't come out for another year.
Anyway's since you have no power not a dam thing not even the lights you should check fused links, and things of that sort. You could have killed a fuse because the wiring is so dam old probably some rats chewed up some wires and it shorted something out, happened to my fuel injector num 7, dam rodent ate my cable and I threw a code, didn't kill my S.B.E.C, lucky I must say.

Anyways keep me posted after doing that and if that not it then we can move on when I get the complete vehicle wiring diagrams as I am a electrical engineering enthusiest and going to be an EE.

I would check the battery and cables on both ends also.

thanks for your help. no we checked the wires all the fuseable links we found everything looks good there is power on both sides of the fuseable link on top of wheelwell, by relays. everything checks out fine but no power to switch. well on of the wires on the switch gets power but it goes dead when the switch turned to the start position.

the only wire on the switch that is hot is a brown one that goes dead when you turn the key to the start position, all the red ones are dead. we don't know which ones are supposed to be hot

ok it is a fuseable link right were you said it was. right passed the relays. we missed them first time thank you. but something is wrong and causing the fuseable link to blow we cut it out and hooked the wires to gether and it frys the wire. its an orange wire coming off two red ones together.

its inside the cab its the red wire going into the main harness going into the cab that shorted out somewhere. thanks alot for the info at least we know where to start looking. we unplugs harness and we get no spark. so its got to be inside somewhere.

Like I said I had a feeling it was a fuselink. If you want me to I can email you as many of the wiring diagrams as I can get from chrysler for this vehicle. It will tell you were everything is and everything goes. I can even help you as I am sort of an electrical engineer.

Just tell me if you want them then I can go threw the process of getting them and compiling them into a folder for you. It's no problem with me, always happy to help. Just be sure to give me some rep points.

man i worked on that truck today pulled dash ash tray wiring harness thru firewall and aeerthing siad i'm going to find this took a hot wire hit all the plugs on the main harness the switch came on everything worked one at a time and fuel pump everything so i put it back together and wired the trhee wires together and it cranked up and ran. i told him to sell it.lol i don't know what caused it or why its fixed. we are going to go get a circuit breaker to put in it and try wiggling everything. beats all i ever seen. i siad i fixed it that will be 2500 dollars.lol it cranked up and ran good.

we drove it hit bump and it did it again.lol

we are pulling the dash today on the 92 ram powerwagon 4 wheel drive you can post or send diagrams to if you don't care. we are going to replace dash anyway cause it is cracked and we found a good one in junkyard. its inside truck cause we just pulled wiring harness apart and checked it one the inside and the main red wire has a direct short.
