Default A/C air flow path

I'm want to find out if the flow of the a/c air (when set on max) goes through the heater core or if the recirculate door changes the path to bypass the heater core.

I have a mod in mind to make the ac colder.

Thanks for any info.

Hi, I don't have an answer, my guess based on a fix I had to do when a napkin was sucked out of my glovebox and into the fan motor when on recirculate is no, but, it's time to .................... this back to the top!

the blend door when set all the way to cold bypasses the heater core and as you rotate the temp control knob to hot i gradually opens up the blend door to the heater core to adjust the temp but the heater core and the A/C evaporator coil are very close together so i have seen in other threads were they put a ball valve inline under the hood to restrict water-flow to the heater core to prevent heat-soak into the evaporator coil area I have never personally tore down the entire dash of my dodge other than to check blend doors and clean the evaporator coil (without removal of dash ) but from what i understand its just a thin plenum that is between the heater core and the evaporator coil
