I'm not trying to argue, I think past midnight is too late. I get up between 6-630 every day and although it doesn't really bother me what others do(I have bad hearing and also could sleep through an earthquake, while the house is on fire, with sirens going off...) I think its very rude of others not to take into consideration the people around them. Especially true in areas like where I live where the houses are 10 feet apart. I got home last night around 1 or 2 and the neighbor was shooting rockets off in the road still, I was so exhausted it didn't really bother me, what did bother me is the trash spread down the road this morning.

That's what it's all about. Some people can stay up all night setting off bombs, and others can get ticked off at their neighbor while trying to fall asleep, that's what makes it the greatest country in the world.

All I can say is you are lucky you werent out by us. At one point we had almost 20 people with various weapons just unloading. People had shotguns, assault rifles(semi and full) pistols, parachute flares, smoke grenades, sub machine guns. It got wild.

I agree with a few points but first want to share my opinion through an experience we may of all had.

Some unenlightened fool will spout off: "Anyone driving a hummer or a stupid big truck should be banned off the roads. Unless you need the truck for the purpose it is built they shouldn't be on the road"

We all have our preferences and the freedom that is still available is more complicated than people like to believe.

I love the expression of freedom so I love to hear the crazy kids or stressed people expressing with abandon. Personally I dont celebrate until the actual day. I am Canadian but I have spent a large amount of time in the united states and respect the fourth with the same energy.

People are injured more often than not by accident or through bad choices. Most times when people make horrible mistakes they learn and are remorseful. No matter what you do people will **** up. Ever notice the police making huge mistakes when they are told to manage our freedom for us. Then we blame them for the mistakes made. So some stupid kid would get tazed to death becasue he was shooting illegal fireworks. One way or another a person will get injured or killed, guaranteed. The difference is who holds the power, policing takes away your freedom and people still get killed and injured.

Fear and passing the responsibility of control onto others leads to the erosion of the freedoms that are still left. Freedom for all is a job for every single person and requires give and take that can sometimes be painful. This is why dropping of the ego and passing around forgiveness is so imperative to freedom.

I love freedom more than I love convenience and I am ready to work for it every day. The government has been given responsibility for your freedoms but so far all they do is abuse them...careful who you ask to do your work.

Like offroading or anything else if given an appropriate zone or area with no restrictions people will gravitate to the area of least resistance. I enjoy what your grandfathers believed their lives were worth. Responsibility and trust builds safety and respect.

Excessive legislation is for the lazy and foolish.

My opinion, our freedom.

Here is my thing, have a little common courtesy for your fellow man/woman. Sure, we all have the freedom to do a lot of things, but sometimes, we need to exhibit a little grown up responsibility.

Shoot off fireworks, I really don't care, but don't tell me that shooting them off for 5, 6, 7 or more days into the wee hours of the morning is celebration of freedom. That is an excuse for you to blow stuff up because that is what you like to do. You can't honestly, and that is the key, tell me that with every lady finger or roman candle you were celebrating independence. I absolutely love my freedom, which is why I vote, and write my government officials to voice my opinion. I don't want my freedoms taken away, which is why I think the NRA is sooo important and ACLU needs to go.

I like loud music, but I don't play it late into the night, and when I had a system in my car that hit in the mid 140's, I didn't play it loud in my sub division. Could I have? Sure. But I didn't out of respect for my neighbors, and that was all I looking for. When I got a text from my neighbors that my dogs barked in the middle of the day (not night) sometimes while I was at work, I invested in a bark collar and put tarps on the fence so that they wouldn't see the meter guys and the mailman. Did I have to? No. Animal control came out and said that my dogs were fine in the backyard, and I was in complete compliance, but I did out of respect for my neighbors.

And that my friend is what I am talking about! When is it cool to exercise your freedom at someone else's expense? Do unto others as you would want done to you.

"Responsibility and trust builds safety and respect. "

I get it and advocate laws. I support "peace officers" and the common sense that used to be applied. The more controlled a public is day to day the less able to act appropriately on their own. If you turn the public into children they will act like children. A good and common excuse used to take away rights.

I agree with your right to complain and I agree with your right to peace and quite. I would complain as well as provide a solution. Simple behaviour mod, Don't take away an outlet without first providing an alternative.

I used to have brats sneaking on my property stealing apples. I used to watch the hilarious contortions the little buggers would preform to avoid getting caught. One day they went to far and started trashing the place. I took it upon myself to sneak up behind them until I could whisper in their ear. I said "Hi boys". They jumped higher than the trees and injured themselves leaving. One guy did a face plant while trying to jump the fence. It was never a problem again. I left the extra apples out in the front yard.

All that said your entitled to vent and I dont want to diminish your rant. I have some neighbours who like to party from time to time. I use my earplugs from my gun bag and wala, no problem. You will need a reliable internal alarm clock to use earplugs.

I have to admit I am bias, I do like a big bang any day of the week.

I like a big bang too, but usually when something flying is dying, or something brown is down afterwards.
