DARK GREEN RAM is on a distinguished road
Default trans fluid leak

I have a 98 ram 5.2 with auto trans. It started leaking from around the bell housing about 2 weeks ago, and as I kept driving it, it got worse. It was leaving small puddles everywhere I went, and the trans would slip. So I decided to change the front pump seal because I thought it was the problem. After changing that I put everything back together, started it and the damn thing was pouring more than before. So as I took everything apart again I noticed that the leak was from the torque converter, from the center where it bolts to the flywheel. It has a small seal, but I could'nt find it anywhere, I went to all the auto parts and a dodge dealer. I guess I will have to buy another converter.

Has this happened to anyone?
I have searched but nothing comes up regarding this problem.
Is that hole really necessary? Or can I just welded shut?
