Default Flow Master Duals

Have learned a great deal on the threads here concerning aftermarket exhaust and most seem to have good luck with Magna Flow 18". Has anyone tried the Flowmaster, the 50 series HD? Also have a guestion concerning outlet size. Will the outlet size effect performance, ie, torque? Some systems are offered in 2", 2.5" and 3". Thanks for your help.

I actually just switched from the 50HD to a Super 40. The 50 was not loud enough for me, but if you are interested I could make you a deal on it (its sitting in my garage waiting to be sold). I love the sound of both and even though the difference between the 50 and 40 wasnt that much, it made me happy .

I have a single Aero Turbine 3030XL on my truck and it sounds fantastic..I didn't want to change over to imitation duals so this was my option..its stainless steel and will last forever..( or hopefully til I buy a new truck in a few yrs )

I installed a FlowMaster 50 HD on my truck back in May (I think), and I couldn't be happier. My truck has the set up for the so called factory duals. I just replaced the muffler, and reused all of the stock pipes and hangers.

If I remember correctly the stock system has a 3" single inlet, and dual 2.5" outlets. If you're truck doesn't have the factory dual set up, then you might need to consider your options, but I'd go with either the 2.5" or keep everything 3"

There are a few sounds clips of before and after here, that I posted shortly after getting my muffler replaced.

good luck

Exco

Magnaflow is much better quality, all stainless steel, and is also less restrictive. All magnaflows are straight through designs, flowmasters are sort of chambered. magnaflow will give better performance for sure and imo sound better but some like the flowmaster sound better. Stay with minimum 2.5" exhaust pipe.
