Looks like HD's quality control is going downhill again
I didn't realize it ever went uphill. My dad had one major issue with his road king (timing chain tensioner broke) and my brother has had a few minor ones with his sportster. I love my buell, it is the most fun bike I've ridden, and extremely reliable and low maintenance, however I spent about the first 6 months I owned it fighting a stumbly idle and light throttle hesitation. Once I got that taken care of it runs great. It was sort of a design flaw by harley, the way the breather system vents the crankcase to the intake was screwing with the intake air temperature sensor's reading, after changing the breather vents it ran perfect... I don't know anything about the other bikes/engines harley has, I assume that bike has the same (1450cc I think) engine as in my dads road king. Harley's engineering and design is very crude and basically hasn't changed in 50 years, but people like it and buy it, so why would they change it? I just wish they would produce a real sport bike. Buell was good but harley limited greatly what they could have done. As soon as buell stopped using the harley engine they dumped buell.
Anyway back on topic....you should request your build sheet from chrysler it will have you gearing on it, its nice to have for records as well. Also you could change gearing fairly inexpensively if you don't care about a limited slip.
