Default Front Suspension Hop

I've driven several friend's and also test drove a few new 2009-2011 RAM 1500s, and noticed the front end feels a little jumpy to me. (all big horn or laramie - crew cab 4x4s, 5.7 Hemi). Even under mild cornering the front tires don't feel very well 'planted' on a bumpy corner. Is this a common issue? Anyone had trouble with it? Is there an easy fix? I really want to buy a new RAM, but even my 10 year old truck's old front suspension inspires more 'confidence' that i'm not going to understeer the corner.

Thanks!

I've got a 2008 Ram with about 60K miles and it does the same thing. I thought it was the front and rear struts/shocks that were bad, but maybe not. I am planning on putting in a Ground Force suspension to lower and level the truck without sacrificing the 4WD capability. We'll see how that works. Of course I'll be changing out the shocks and struts at the same time so it may be difficult to determine what exactly the fix is if it works.

I have a 3rd gen Ram and have the same problem! I've taken my truck to a suspension shop and they told me it's real common with the 1500 Rams. Bump steer can be caused by a lot of different things, but I haven't been able to fix it. I've been told you can replace the factory bumpstops with some more progressive cone shaped aftermarket ones, but that takes some considerable work. Maybe some nice heavy duty shocks? Maybe a custom steering dampener like the 2500 and 3500 have? bottom line is that it is a common problem on our trucks and there is no easy fix...
