I'm no expert on what mufflers sound like what, but I'd personally think glasspacks would be loudest (that's what you had right?). A straight through magnaflow would be loud as well. I would compare costs of doing y pipe with single in single out with dual to double in single out, and go with what's cheaper, it should be the same basically performance wise.

mag is straight through..I wanted to sound low tone and muscular..it just makes the cutouts sound soo much louder. The H pipe helps tq performance down low. I wanted to try and get the best of both worlds by doing a 'hybrid' type of true duals but not lose low end performance that true duals show. plus..all my piping is 3" and the single out is 3.5"... yes, the cats are dualed with 3" straight pipe run through them (for inspection)

Thanks for the pics. I had planned on doing my setup with shorties, stock cats, Y pipe to single in single out magnaflow. I still don't know if I believe having an H or X pipe before a Y pipe(basically what your muffler is) is beneficial (I think I'd need to see dyno to believe it), but not that I'm saying your wrong, I've just never seen this before...

I just called to see how much it would be to put headers, new cats, dual super flow 44mufflers and straights out the back........ and I got told that the headers will not be passable under state emission laws or inspection. So before you do any changing to your exhaust system I would advise you to check with local and state laws on inspection...... unless you want to switch your exhaust out every time you have to go for inspection.

it is a hassle...that's why i have 2 set's of exhaust.. to make mine smog legal for testing I switch my longtubes for shortys (that are certified in my state) with stock cats and then add a tip to the dump so it exits out the side for their tester..

Dang that sucks well since I don't have inspections! Should I do longtube headers with my stock cats with 2 to 1 single in single out? Does that sound about right cause I have true duals an I feel like I lost power with them due to back pressure I guess? So would the setup I stated before be better?

that's exactly why I went single out...you need a little back pressure for efficient scavenging..
