Default 2010 Programmer

Hey guys, new ram owner here. Converted from a ford. I have ?'s for those who have a 2010 with a programmer. How do you like it? Which one did you get, And did you see a big performance difference? Just bought a 2011 and I'm currently waiting for one to come out for the 2011's. I never messed with tuners before and just a little worried if I use one something will get messed up and void my warranty. Should I be? Is it worth it? I'll just be using it for the pre-tunes and taking out that damn speed limiter. Thanks for the time guys! I LOVE MY NEW RAM

I have superchips and love it, been running the 91 perf tune on 93 octane the whole 6 months I've had the truck no problems; its faster, shifts better, and gets better mpg. Diablo sport is the other really popular one. There is potential to have warranty issues but that's really your call. I have two friends that used superchips on their vehicles (one a hemi ram) and both have gone well beyond 100k miles without issues, running them hard and at the track often. They'd powerbrake, drift, etc.. alot and never had trans or engine issues. My friends z28 did end up cracking a flywheel and also tore up his rear differential, but again, never a engine or transmission issue. I think he has like 180,000 miles on the car now. The other guy sold his ram shortly after 100,000 miles, again no issues there, he also ran it very hard. I drive mine pretty easy but like to have fun now and again.

I have a '10 with a Superchips. I just installed it a few days ago, and being this is my second one I knew it would be a great upgrade!

I like that I can adjust my speedo for my tires, and I can raise the rev limiter. I keep it on 93 performance, and there is a tremendous improvement in how it shifts and acceleration, and overall I am thrilled!!!

I have the DSP and really like it. Its my first tuner so cant compare to superchips, but what really made me finally buy it was the 106mph governor on our trucks. The DSP will allow you to adjust it up to 190mph. You can adjust shift points and other parameters that am clueless about. But their website is super informative and I am sure I have yet to unleash this tuners full power. I run the 93 octane tune and there is considerable difference when I go back to the stock tune before I hit the dealer.

I have a superchips on my 2010 4.7L. It is simply awesome, tons of power increase, and the best part is the transmission enhancements. Diablo is geared a little more towards custom tuning, but they are both similar and should yield similar results. The two benefits diablo has over superchips is that you can custom tune and I believe you can disable traction control. I chose superchips because I am very familiar with them and have known many people that used them for long periods of time with no problems.

Superchips allows you to change the speed limiter to 140... But 190!!!! WOW ! !! HAHA!!

I am not sure about the Diablo, but my Superchips also allows you to shut off the MDS as well on the '09+

Don't think you can go wrong with either tuner. Each have there pros and cons. I have the DSP and find it very flexible. It is simple to update, but the biggest factor that tilted the scale to the DSP,for me, is you can remove the program before taking your truck in for any warranty issues because it won't leave a footprint. Good luck and let us know what you decide!
