Default Wrangler stock tires

Hi Everyone!

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie in red; I love it! My issue is that my tire pressure system light has come on, and will not go off. All of the tires have been checked multiple times (by me) using a tire gauge, and they are inflated properly---and none of them appear to have a side bubble that I have seen on some truck tires. They came stock with Wrangler HP P275/60R20 tires. I have 67,000 miles on the truck. Now because the light is on, and will not turn off, I have a couple of guy friends that have told me I need new tires, but my brother says I do not. Anyone else have the same problem with the tire light? Any suggestions would be helpful. I would love to get new tires, but of course would like to avoid the expense if possible. Also, if I do need new tires, should I get the same exact ones?? Thanks!!!

Tire pressure is 35, just like the manual says it should be. Do you think I should get new tires anyway because of my mileage? All of my miles are highway as I travel that way to my job. You are very sweet to answer, thank you!!!

i would try around 40 psi then drive a few miles to reset the censors 67000 is a lot of miles for a set of tires look in side the drivers door jam there should be a sticker with the tire presser on it try that do you have a read out for the tire presser monitor ?

mileage only counts when you find by looking in between the tires treads
you will see wear bars, they are little raised areas, you can't miss them
take a penny, hold it so the Presidents head is upside down & facing you

follow these directions

Okay, I will raise it from 35 to 40; that's safe, right? As far as a read out for the tire pressure monitor, where would that be located? From what I know about this truck, I only have the dash light. After you indicated that 67,000 is a lot of miles for the tires, I am thinking I should just get new ones. Funny, I priced them through Goodyear tire centers, and none of the dealers around me stock them; Sears is the only one who does or my local Dodge dealer. Sears is less expensive than Dodge which doesn't surprise me for a second. Thanks, Guys!!!

If you have good tread and no bulging you should be able to keep running with them. I would suspect that you have a bad sensor, which is why the light will not go out. As for replacement tires, there are much better choices out there. Don't just replace them with the same crappy stockers. Just my two cents............
