Default How much will a new bed side cost me

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup that needs a new bedside - my daughter spun it out and hit a telephone pole. Does any one have any idea what ball park I'd be in to get a body shop to repair it (new bedside and paint job)? I was only carrying minimum insurance on it so trying to figure out if it's worth taking in to get an estimate or not.

Wow that sucks, hope shes okay. Depends on how extensive the damage is and if they can just bang the bed side out or will they need to replace a panel. Which always involves welding and such. I can tell you that just for a fender to sand it, prime it, paint it, clear, all that additional prep I got a quote for $660. The biggest issue with an older truck is going to be making the paint blend together so they will have to paint a larger portion.

For the Mustang we have to repaint the hood and blend the fenders I got quoted somewhere around $1400.

Painting is expensive, you can do some of the work yourself and try Maaco. They are much chepaer, but their work is not the highest quality. They run specials for like $300

1500 or less. A drunk driver took out my whole right side and that is what it cost my insurance for parts and labor.

your best bet would be to buy a good used truck bed from a auto dismantling yard

new panel would run about $860

I am finding the whole bed on craigslist for $200 in ok to good condition... I am tempted to get one instead of repairing all the rust issues to mine... Look around for a bargain before forking out cash to a body shop. Only issue is if the color is right or not, then it will need paint.
