Default Rear Shock Replacement??

I thought the rear shock replacement would have been easy. Just take 2 nuts and bolts out, put in the new shock and bolt them back down. Does anyone have any insight as to how to get the driver side top nut/bolt out without having to drop the fuel tank. Also it's so hard to get a socket on because the nut is actually lower than the frame(or close to it). If anyone has done the rear shock replacement please let me know if I am missing something or if i need a special tool. Thanks.

Just did my drop kit this weekend and I used a breaker bar with a small socket to hold the inside bolt...breaker bar parallel to the ground pointed at the fron of the truck...akward for the person holding it, but it worked. When it was tight enough not to spin, imact gun!

You did it without dropping the fuel tank? I'm guessing you took the wheel liner out for better access to the outside bolt.

That is correct, no tank drop, but the liner came out

Thanks for the help, i bought a 3/8 angled head stubby ratchet and it worked like a charm. Had it swapped out in 5 minutes and didn't have to take the wheel liner out. It looks like you kept your stock rims in your photo's. What size tires do you have on there? I know it says with the CST spindles not to go any bigger than 305 without wheel spacers.

Finally done. Rides just like it did before just a hint stiffer on some bumps. Just need to put some bigger tires on.

truck looks good. I cut an extra boxed end wrench in half and was able to squeeze it in up there no problem.
