I know its not a recall. Its just an update that we are supposed to get in the for of a CD to add travel link to our 430N radios but for some reason no dealers around me know anything about it and therefore I can not get my free trial which is annoying!
I just used the standard windows 7 drag in explorer and burn.. Nothing special.. make sure you don't burn the WHOLE folder just everything that's inside of it... If you have an .img I dunno what the hell you can do. You wan me to take a picture of mine with Travel Link up and running so you can shove it in the dealers face.. and that file should contain the instructions from CHRYSLER that says it needs the update
I have the instructions and if I just show them a picture they will just tell me its a picture of the 730N. I tried a few different ways. When I open the folder and select all the files and click on burn to disc it will burn but for some reason it does not work when I do it that way. It has only worked for me at all when I use IMGBurn to burn files onto a disc...
Your truck is one picky PITA. I'm not sure what to tell ya, bud. I wish I could be of more help but you have me stumped. The set of instructions in the TIF files are from Chrysler, they came with the original disc for the update. That's why I mentioned them.
Go back to post #25 in this thread. GT posted a link that has the TSB. Print out the TSB and bring it to the dealer. At the very bottom of the document is says:
"NOTE: Dealers may order MOPAR part number 68141133AA to have a Travel Link™
update disk on hand if desired. This same disk may be used to service
vehicles in Group 1 and in Group 2.
Have them order you that disc and see what happens. Politly remind the dealer that the TSB clearly shows this is for the 430 radio. Not sure they couldn't do it if you had that document right in front of them.

I got it working guys!! I took the one disc that was actually trying to do something but giving me the Failed message and put it in my Windows 7 computer. I copied all the files off of that disc and put them in a new folder on that computer. Then I used windows 7 to burn those files to a new disc. It actually asked me what speed I wanted to use and what I was using the disc for (CD/DVD Player is what I selected), so I burnt it at 4x (slowest option). I didn't think it would work but it worked like a champ. I think it only took about 15 minutes for me and thats probably because I had already gotten the maps to update. I noticed right away when I put the new cd in the truck that the words on the top of the screen said Software Update etc... The other disc's I tried were saying PND Update etc.. at the top right!
Anyway, it worked and if the dealership didn't close at 5 I would drive down there and shove in in there face! lol
Anyway, when I look at the gas prices all I see is n/a and when I touch one of the stores it says "current data not avaiblable". Whats up with that? I think everything else if working good. I checked the weather and thats about it so far..
It takes a bit for the gas prices to update/download. You don't have your location listed in your profile so I'm not sure where you live, but if you are near any metropolitan area it should list the gas prices.
I live in a pretty small town in VA. It lists all the gas stations around me but no prices. I let it load for a few minutes with no luck.. Maybe next time I drive it I will just let it go to see if it ever loads for me. Does it take a really long time every time you use the program?
