Hi and a warm Carolina welcome to the best RAM ForumZ on the web. How about jumping over to our Newbie Checkin and introducing yourself and posting a few photos of your truck? I always use Crutchfield as a reference point for stereo equipment as they'll have all kits and cables needed for quick installations.

Technically you could cut it up and rewire it but that's a pretty ugly install. Just order the harness and antenna adapter too, so am/fm radio functions.

The deck will be plug and play unless you have steering wheel controls.

If you do, you'll need a PacAudio adapter harness so they will work with your new head unit. The specific harness you need depends on what brand head unit you are installing. The items available are:

Part Number: SWI-ECL2
Category: Steering Wheel Control Interfaces
Description: Steering Wheel Control Interface for Eclipse Radios
MSRP: $85.95

SWI-JACK

Part Number: SWI-JACK
Category: Steering Wheel Control Interfaces
Description: Steering Wheel Control Interface for JVC, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, OEM, Valor & Blaupunkt Radios
MSRP: $85.95

SWI-PS

Part Number: SWI-PS
Category: Steering Wheel Control Interfaces
Description: Steering Wheel Control Interface for Pioneer, Sony Radios
MSRP: $85.95

SWI-RC

Part Number: SWI-RC
Category: Steering Wheel Control Interfaces
Description: Steering Wheel Control Interface for Alpine, JVC, Clarion, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony, Valor, OEM, Boyo, Dual, Visteon, Advent & Blaupunkt Radios
MSRP: $85.80

SWI-X

Part Number: SWI-X
Category: Steering Wheel Control Interfaces
Description: Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface
MSRP: $85.95

If there is one above that is for the specific brand of head unit you have, go with that one.

Also, if install an aftermarket amp, then there is another adapter to purchase so everything works. That part is a PacAudio AOEM-CHR2
