Default sub enclosure for 10" in (or so)

Hi,

Looking to add a 10" sub (most likely, but would consider also 12") for an 09 1500 Crew. I do not have the alpine system, it's all aftermarket with a JVC head unit and a JL 5-channel amp. I want to preserve one side of the under-seat storage so I'm looking to install only 1 sub (I think it will be enough for my needs, therefore I'm not looking for enclosures that take up both sides even if they are easily removable).

Can you recommend a sub box enclosure for one-side under-seat for a 1500 Crew 2009?

Thanks!

Netaudio or foxbox both make single enclosures.

Thanks. It seems like all of these boxes require a seat lift... do you know if any are made that do not require this? I've contacted both foxbox and netaudio to determine this, also, but was curious if anyone here knew this.

Thanks!

I don't know about foxbox but net audio boxes are made to order. So if you have a sub that needs the extra space then he will give you some spacers to go with it. If the sub is small enough say 10" or 8" the most likely to will not need the spacers. If you go with a 12" then most Lilly you will need a spacer.

Man you are really pushing that kicker set up. For that price you can get a really nice amp and sub.

Because it fit his application, is there something wrong with an answer to a related question?

Sure you can find a sub nox, buy a PAC, find sub that works in shallow enclosure, get wiring kit, pull panels or radio out, tap into it....or,

plug harness into factory harness, unbolt seat bracket, bolt down sub/amp and done and still use/retain all factory controls.
PS Plus the sub alone is less than that, that $699 is 4.1 amp for front as well...so two amps in that kit.

Options are nice.

No there is nothing wrong with it at all. Just noticed you have been pushing it that's all.

I would never pay $700 for the Kicker add-on. You can also find boxes on ebay. Someone is selling fiberglass ones on there for $129. I wouldn't buy the MDF single ones on ebay. I did. It's requiring surgery to make it work for me. I also can't raise my seats, because I already cut my hooks in back of the seats.

Not 'pushing' it, if the shoe fits, why not.

But just to clarify, that $700 kit is two amps, not one and a sub box where you dont have to lift the seat, etc. Most the prefab plywood ones in plain gray carpet are mediocre at best.
