When Replacing A Rack And Pinion Line, Does The New Line Have To Be The Same Length As The One Replaced?

One Of My Metal Rack And Pinion Lines (Not Hoses) Had A Leak, On My G/f 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport.

I Have Removed Metal Line With The Hole In It.

When Replacing This Line With A New Line Does The New Line Have To Be The Same Length As The Old?

Those Of You Who Own A Jeep Liberty, The Line Being Replaced Is The Line Directly Below The Crankshaft Pulley. Is Length Important Or Is That Only On Diesel Fuel Lines And Brake Lines?

as long as its not rubbing anything, and its not hanging down so it can get caught on things int he road, then it is fine.

Would think you'd want it close to the original length unless you are rerouting the line.
