Default PIAA headlights...or something to replace stock

I want to upgrade the stock lights in my truck. I would like to go HID again (had them in my previous truck), but the thought of replacing/upgrading to projector lamps disinterests me. I suppose I could just replace the existing bulbs with HID bulbs?
Looking at alternatives, I was thinking of putting in a set of PIAA bulbs. I also ran a pair of these in a previous vehicle, and they burned really hot (hot enough to "burn" a ring inside the housing.)

Any suggestions from anyone? The stock halogens are just so poor, and with me being used to HID, I need to do something soon.

At least I have the quad lighting, too. That means 2 bulbs per housing.

I've had PIAA before and would consider them again. Try posting this question in the lighting area. Lots of people still would point you to doing HID projector kits.

Thanks RedRam10: I'll post in the lighting section. My mistake.

Not a mistake just more likely to find an answer there.

I just put the PIAA's in my Ram and really like them. I've only had them in for a week so it's too early to tell how long they will last, don't seem to be having any heat issues.
