Default Pacesetter Longtube Headers with Cats

Looking under the truck checking out the exhaust and it doesnt seem that the stock cats will fit with the longtube headers. Do the (cats) get pushed back? I thought this was a simple bolt on install. Want to buy the Pacesetter Y Pipe also will it work or do i need aftermarket cats? To use them do i need to get something to join the cats to the headers. Help. Pictures would help alot. Thanks.

I thought longtubes eliminated the cats? If not Just push all the packing out of your stock cats and bam! You have high flow cats lol. But if the longtubes do just push the cats back let me kno!

i bought longtube pacesetter headers and the offroad pacesetter y-pipe. you either have to get rid of your cats or buy new ones and weld them into ur new y-pipe. i am juss getting rid of them and buying an o2 spacer from bigdaddiesgarage.com so i get any CEL codes and bog my performance down

yes the cats need to be moved, its not a simple bolt and go, now shorty headers are, but they make a lil less hp. All you gotta do is shorten the length of the pipe from the collector to the cats and they can stay relatively in the same spot, but you will need to move them since they will not fit with the larger header.

You can have an exhuast shop reuse your stock cats by mounting them directly to the headers, you'll need the O2 sensor extention harness though as the rear O2 sensor will be further back if you use long tube headers.

Pacesetter headers and matching y-pipe will delete the cats. I just bought this setup from pacesetter and will install it hopefully within the next week. Being in an area where I don't have to worry about emessions testing I don't plan on putting my cats back on.

Pacesetter claims that their LT headers and matching y-pipe can be installed in your own driveway. Just take note that you will have to cut your exhaust at the point where the y-pipe will go (right before the muffler); the y-pipe is then supposed to clamp on where you cut your exhaust. I think I will take mine to a shop and have them weld it.
