Default Train Horns.....

I put my horns on my truck finally. I took them off my ranger before I sold it and finally found a free weekend to put them on the raaam. This install was much cleaner than in my ranger since I could hide the compressor under the rear seat. The video doesn't really do them justice they're loud as heck in person... my neighbors must love me lol.

Here are mine, but I have yet to install them on my ram soon. If you take the compressor off the tank and mount it seprately it will fit cleanly under your seat upright so the drain valve will work properly... My train horns I think were pups so I invester $30 at a rig yard for a Freightliner rig horn, and it was 5X's louder, I also upgraded my pressure switch and pressure releif valves to just under the tanks max for louder blasts as well. Here is my video when it was on my Dakota, then my baja and now soon to be on the ram. Video first then pictures of location after...My compressor will be inside the ram and not in the bed like it was on the dakota.

Also, forgot to mention, I installed my air valve onto the comressor so only a hose ran to the horns, that way there was no freeze up in the winter. When I go to install mine I will take pictures. I figured it was simple to keep all the wires in one place.

I called about having train horns installed and they wanted $600, I quickly changed my mind.

Install yourself and save, I paid $250 for mine. All you need to buy is a relay and some wiring ( about $20 )

Geee....Thanks guys for reminding me missing my air horns! When I traded in my Ford for my Ram I was to lazy to uninstall everything. Looks like I'll be shopping for a new setup.

I am about to lift my truck so I have no use for the spare tire under the bed. I think I will mound my tank & compressor in the empty void.

I just thought of something. If I'm not mistaken some air compressors need to stand upright or else the internal components wont be lubed properly while in operation. If you havent already you might want to check with the manufacture to ensure you have have it on its side.

11Ram, that is true... as well as the drain petcock on the bottom of the tank to drain condensation.

I'd be careful using the horns, I was looking at buying a set and found out that they are HIGHLY illegal on vehicles, and many LEO's will at a minimum cite you for them, and some will even arrest you under some sort of public disturbance statute.

I decided to go with regular air horns instead ( http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=87442) since they're still loud enough to wake the dead and still legal for road use.

Very nice! I'd love to get me some, but I have other mods that must come before them haha.
