That's confusing, lol....so just to be clear, you do NOT need a programmer to do the "hold the shifter to the left to catch 2nd prime" trick?

Stock rev limit is 5800, stock max shift points are 5600 ...which totally sucks ass.

I'm shifting up to about 6400rpm with my Diablo Trinity
Does that make a difference? ... 13.8/98 (13.4/101 DA corrected) just sayin'

Heavy 4x4 with 3.55 gears

Here's what happens if I don't walk her out slowly...
Breaking the tires loose even from a roll, decent tire bark into second too.

Ok so I have a problem and itís nice to see someone with an R/T thatís been to the track. I have a 2010 Ram R/T I have been to the track twice now, once right after I got it and once about 6 months later. I made my passes with traction control off, in ďmanualĒ mode (meaning I bumped it to the left so it read 1 on the dash) and it goes like this (hard launch as close to 1200/1500 rpm as I can get, goes through 1st gear, I donít touch the shifter and it shifts firm into 2nd goes through the RPMís I bump it to the right, it keeps climbing all the way to what seems like the red line then the engine backs off about 1500 RPMís it goes back to red line then shifts. Iím sure this is hurting me and it does it no matter when I bump it or even if I let off when I shift. Anyone else had this happen to them? Not sure what to do, never tried the holding it to the left thing and never tried in tow haul mode. And does this 2nd prime thing help our ľ mile time or hurt it? Also I read on the Diablo forum one of the techs said he didnít think the shift points worked in manual mode. Also what mileage are your R/Ts getting in town? Did the programmer help or hurt it?
Thanks!

EastTxRT, I'd love to know what your times are, even though you had some shifting issues! if I were you, I would just let your truck shift by itself and have the tow/haul mode on for higher revs and firmer shifts. My R/T's mixed mileage is 17-17.5. My highway mileage is 20-20.5. I'm not sure about city mileage..I don't think I wanna know I think its around 15-15.5 though. No programmers for the 2011s so I can't help you with that. Hopefully someone else can answer your other questions!

It sounds normal, it sounds like your truck is shifting in the following pattern: 1,2,2Prime,3,4.

The 545rfe gears are as follows:

1
2
2Prime (only used for downshifting)
3
4
5

So when you are in drive and hit the gas pedal, the normal shifting is 1,2,3,4,5

If you downshift in 3,4, or 5 it will downshift into 2Prime, not 2. They are almost the same gear, that's why only the 1500rpm change. With tow/haul on it rearranges the gearing to:

1
2
2Prime
3
4

Even though this is the new gearing with tow/haul, it will still display on the evic "1,2,3,4,5".

I swear my truck doesn't use 2nd prime even when shifting manually, it has to be in tow/haul, but others apparently say it does use 2nd prime if you shift manually...hope this wasn't confusing and helps you lol.

times were anywhere between 14.7 and 14.4, I was happy tho, Dad has an 09 challenger R/T and I got him 1 out of 4 times we raced which also happend to be the only race my GF caught on film haha and if its not on film it didnt happen therefor my truck is faster! but the 2-2p shift dosent feel like a shift it feels like the truck hits the rev limiter drops down a gear THEN shifts... I dont know, we need our own R/T section on here since we have a slightly diff torque converter and we are the only trucks that got the 4:10.

I live in a small town and my driving is a lot of stop and go never getting over 45mph and I get between 13.5-14.5 which is what the sticker said so I cant bitch much, plus my bike gets 55mpg :-) so thats my to and from work ride.

Way to go on beating a challenger! I really wanted to buy one...but I went with a truck instead. So it makes me feel good that I have a chance of beating a challenger! you and your dad were both running a bit slow though, I'll bet the DA was pretty high! You could get your times DA corrected online.
