Sounds good! I hope you didn't pay extra for the spacer...

As far as the chip goes, I would be leery of it. I would want documented proof that they said their chip would work on a 2011 and that they know that the computers were changed in 2011. Then if they are wrong, you can have that to fall back on if you need a fall guy to replace your computer. I hope you get that and try it, if it works then I'll get one until the predators come out...

Jet lists it on their website -- http://www.jetchip.com/

You can put your year / model / make - and 2011 is listed for Stage 1 - 90906 and Stage 2 - 90906S. There are 840 reviews on the website for a pretty large reseller and has an average rating of 4 stars out of 5.

How much does all that cost? I may take the plunge. I had some money earmarked for a new sound system but the one in there is just fine.

I'd really appreciate it if someone can suggest the best performance mods for the buck (recognizing that I have a few bucks to spend).

Thanks. Great forum. Very interesting and helpful.

Mike

Like everyone else says, the chips are not good. They don't "tune" the vehicle, they trick the computer, and that's not a good, thing, it won't help the engine management properly adjust air/fuel ratios. I agree to send the chip back, and wait for a programmer. Superchips and Diablo sport both offer "plug and play" tunes. My superchips tune took me about 15 minutes to do, and it adds real power, driveability, and performance without screwing anything up. I'd also sent the TB spacer back, they don't do anything.

again not saying it won't work. They list the compatability for that unit as working for the 2009-2010s too. I don't see how that can be possible if the computer is completely different. Just be careful and cover your butt. I hope it works but I would be leery of it...

Right now there isn't much we can do. A CAI, muffler, and y-pipe will run you about 600 +/- and will give you a good gain. A 180 degree thermo will help too.

Like he said ^^ the computer for 2011 is different for 2010 and earlier, so it does seem odd they'd say it'd work for both. If you end up using it just be careful and understand there's some risk to causing damage there...and as far as the reviews, sometimes people just like to justify the money they spent. I knew someone who put a jet chip in their 4.3L s10, and swore it felt faster, but it actually ran a few tenths slower at the track...alot of it can be anticipation/perception as well. "chips" are sort of out, if you will, and there's good reason for that, they really don't put out any concrete results, and like said before they simply "trick" sensors, and if that was a good thing then the sensor would have been designed differently in the first place. Tuners are what you should be looking for. Not bashing just trying to help... The truck ought to run great with those other mods!

Ok. Way too many people advising that I ditch the Jet Module -- so I just canceled that order. Still looking forward to all the other stuff!

This is exactly why I posted all of this. Thanks all!

E.L.D. 44 has the heaviest modded 2011 on the forum. He knows a lot about what will work and what won't. Hope we didn't upset you, but a lot of us want to make sure the truck doesn't get messed up by anything.
