Only difference is volume...shorter mufflers make more noise.

I went with the 18" because I felt the 14" might be a little too loud for my personal tastes. Quite honestly, the 18" will take some getting used to over the stock system. I get a little bit of drone in the lower gears but not bad. But man, it sounds so good at take off.

Yep, Timmy is a good guy. Hey gave me some great information in a chat room one afternoon about exhaust. Really helped inform me and give me direction on what I want to do with my exhaust. Rep points to Timmy!!

I thought the Magnflow kit came with a 22" muffler. Did you buy the 18" muffler and add it to the system?

Looking Good Razor!

It gets substantially louder as the internal packing material burns off,
Your 18" will be as loud or louder than a new 14" after about 6 months.
You also have to factor in that the kit has removed the factory resonators and changed the rear pipes to 2.5" vs 2.25" stock
..in addition to those huge 5" Tips

My 22" that the CatBack comes with standard is more than loud enough a full year later.
If it was any louder my neighbors would not be pleased because I often leave for work quite early.

I can remote start my Ram from inside the house and on a cold morning you can hear the exhaust drone rumbling through the house while its warming up in the winter,
even though the truck is parked 60+ feet away with the tailpipes directed away from the house towards the rear lane..

[edit] just found a pic from February 11' with a Ton of snow!
That poor guy across the lane got a 5am alarm clock from my tailpipes all winter long!

I think the 22" the kit comes with is more than enough for most.
Very Aggressive Hemi "Growl" at WOT and it still doesn't drone at highway speeds once she's warmed up. Perfect Balance (IMHO)

For those who think there's no such thing as too loud, well that's what cut-outs are for .
