Default Which set should I get?

Howdy everyone, i am looking into a new set of tires to get rid of these horrible Goodyear Wrangler HP's. I am trying to decide between 3 sets...

Size: 275/60/20

I am lookin' at BFG All Terrain's, Falken Rocky Mountain A/T, or Nitto Terra Grapplers.

Which set should I get? My brother-in-law said don't get the Falken's because they wear quickly, but he works with Lexus, so he doesn't know if they wear quick on a Ram. And lots of people with Dodge Cummins say the Nitto's wear really quick as well, but I think that's because of the weight of their truck. I haven't heard many, if any, complaints about the BFG's though.

I am mainly lookin' for long tread life with good traction.

Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

Well treadwear will be dependent on the rating. All tires have a treadwear rating. Person al encounters are difficult because everyone's driving style is different.

I'd add one brand to your list...Toyo Open Country A/T or M/T

My driving style is mainly city, some highway, and often offroad. (Usually dry fields) All going speed limit, around 55-70 mainly.

I've heard about those too. I just really don't know what to get, ha ha. I like the look of them all, but have also heard great AND horrible reviews of them all. I am really leaning toward the Nitto TG's though. But I still wants other people's opinions.

All I can do is relate my personal experience but I have used just about every brand of tire there is over the years (old guy) and I have not gotten better service out of a set of truck tires than with the Toyo units.

I had Falken tires on my Impala SS and really liked them but those tires are not in the same class as what you are looking at.

I have not. I settled on Toyo tires long before Nitto hit the US market.

Hopefully some folks that have experience with the tire brands you have listed will chime in here.

Good luck!

Alright, I appreciate your opinions MADDOG. I will check into the Toyo's a little more before settling in with one of the sets i listed.

I had Bridgestone Dueler Alenza H/L's on my Avalanche. I had 30,000 miles on them, kept them properly inflated and rotated, and would say they were approximately 40% worn. Have you checked tirerack.com for reviews?

Yeah, tirerack has good reviews for all of the ones I am looking into, but when I went to other sites for reviews, there were great ones, and some horrible ones. Knowing my luck, whichever set I get will be bad. But hey, if they have a warranty than what should it matter?
