Default bad tie rod?

Alright I have had my truck for just over 2 years, bought it brand new and I dont beat the hell out of it or nothing like that but I still manage to have a bad tie rod, something doesnt seem right. I was able to find out though that it is still covered by my warranty but I thought tie rods would last longer than 2 years.

I'm not sure who manufacturers the tie rod ends for these trucks, but as with all things sometimes one, or a few, get past quality and make their way onto the product. Could be an isolated incident or could be a manufacturer defect that surfaces in a group of them. Yes you are right, the tie rod ends should last longer than two years under normal use.

You did good! I have a 2010 and had a tie rod replaced at 15,000kms (~9000mi). I really like warranty.
