So if you were to remove the cam, would the rocker then just be loose and you could remove it just by picking it up? This would also mean that there is no way to adjust lash right? Unless you shim the lifter? Thanks for the info this helps me a lot(I've never looked at an OHC head).

yea removing the cam will just let the rocker arm sit there and you can't adjust lash. like you said shim the lifter would be one way the other way is to buy some h.o cams that will give you more horsepower and lift and you can keep all the stock components that will give you the back lash you need.

yeah 2002 to early 2008. Mid year is when they started new design. as long as you have one coil per cylinder. The new design has 2 coils per cylinder

I have a 2010, so I guess it's different...? I'd assume it's similar, but I think they changed the port design a little. Like I said though I assume the operation of the cam/rocker/lifter/valves is similar.

If I ever get to the point of chanigng out my valve covers , think it be worth it to go ahead and upgrad to h.o. cmas at the same time?

I have to go check to see how many coil packs I have...

1999-2007 4.7L H.O cams are interchangeable. 2008-UP 4.7L H.O cams will NOT fit older style heads. In 2008 the 4.7L received new IMPROVED heads and cams specific to the 2008-Up heads.
