What all did you change with the new build performance wise? From the few changes I've seen you post I'm sure you noticed a big difference?

well with the Rebuild instead of going .020 on the piston i went with .030 and I port and polished the heads also went with better Springs and Valve seats to improve the OEM design that caused the problem the 1st time. Also I went with a Cosmetic Multilayer Gasket and copper Exhaust gaskets to prevent leaks that are common on 4.7. I installed an 180 degree thermostat to give the truck better cooling. The Difference I feel is completely out of this world. I barely touch the throttle and it's moving. If I don't keep my eyes on the speedometer I hit 60 in seconds with a light tap of the throttle. Before with the engine bad I used to have to fill up every 5 days now I have been on a tank for 1 week and 3 days and I'm still half and I have been doing city miles. Since the day i Finished the rebuild to now I traveled 274.2 miles so performance is great and mileage is great and all the upgrades are working great. With my intake all you hear is a pure suction and loud too. People are asking if i have a supercharger from the way it sound and the slight whistle it does while it close. My Temp before was 203 to 205 degrees and now with the Electric Fan and the 180 Thermostat its always at 183 to 185. so everything has been solved. Air Fuel mixture is perfect 14.5 to 16 at idle and cruise and 11.5 at full throttle.

My 4.7 overheated and dropped a valve seat.
Compression test showed which one, rocker arm as off

I pulled the head, used head, new gasket and bolts. $150 plus a water pump and thermostat and im back up and running. 70,000 miles on the motor.

Seems to be most common when overheated
