Just changed my plugs yesterday. Even though the truck idled and ran relatively smoothly they were completely burnt out! Gap is originally set to 44 thousands and the plugs I took out were visibly warn and were out to almost 70 thousands!

The job took me about 2 hours but man its almost worth the labor to pay someone to do it. definitely not a fun job!

The labor at my local shop is around $250.00. I don't know about you, but I enjoyed paying myself that $125.00 an hour!

Figure out what you have been denying yourself that you could buy with $250.

Now go change the plugs.

Now buy what you have been wanting without feeling guilty.

Very true. I guess what I was getting at is that they had to earn their paycheck on that service. Wasn't as simple as hooking up a computer or doing an oil change, you actually have to stretch and curse a little bit to complete this

My ram is sitting at home with 59,xxx miles...never changed the plugs. Runs good but wifey says gas mileage is starting to slide a little, so when I get home in January I am going to do them. Anyone have the part # for the top row of plugs for the 4.7? I would rather have one for NGK Iridiums so I dont have to change as often.

Gotta change mine soon. But just curious, what happens if plugs aren't changed? Slow decline in performance/running or sudden breakdown?

I had mine changed at 42,000 miles, i had asked for the old plugs back, i wanted to see them, i was told that they got tossed into a bin with several others, but if i wanted they could give me 16 plugs, not necessarily my whole set, just 16 plugs
This same place is the one i took 2 five quart jugs of Mobile One synthetic & a WIX oil filter to & somehow they lost 3 quarts
The next time i took in the same thing in, & when they were done, the WIX filter was still on the floor of my Ram with 3 quarts of oil in 1 jug, i told them to take it back in & put the WIX on it, unless they could tell me who exactly manufactured the Mopar filter
