well you got your pavement princesses or your mud growlers. I work in the oil field way up north and have to get through 4 feet of liquid mud to get to work everyday. On days off I got my weekend drivers lifted 26" ha ha but thats just for fun. Too many people lift their trucks because it looks "cool" all of a sudden us rednecks start to look like wannabes... Dont bother lifting your truck with tires if your not going to use it or need it. As soon as you lift it the whole engineering of the truck changes from driveline u- joint angles to wheel bearing straining. Im replacing all my u joints about once a year in my trucks and im buying $100 u joints! Adds up really fast. Not to mention the huge power loss and fuel economy drop that comes with tires and lift. Your less aero dynamic and need more power to turn your tires.

If you want to do it right you'll also need to rebuild your front end and rear end gears to compinsate for the tire size. Costs a lot for that $3000 roughly, the gears alone are $800 bucks. Your steering also changes, becomes more sloppy and loose. You need to get pitman arm stabilizers/ steering brace. All the drag links have more stress on them now that they're pulling bigger tires. Steering stabilizers (bigger ones) will be needed as well because youll get frosty while on the highway, will dampen the steering movement.

I dont want to scare you from lifting your truck just want to let you know what your getting into. A lot of guys think that putting a lift and tires is all you need but it isn't the case.

A lot of guys will tell you otherwise from what i've just said but I love lifting trucks and have been doing it for 7 years, but if you dont think you need to do it, you probably shouldn't save yourself a lot of money and time.

Sledneck tells the truth, listen to him. period.

I've been wheeling for 16 years, maybe someone else will contradict us, but he speaks the truth, you should listen.

You can see some pics of my truck at http://s650.photobucket.com/albums/u...20Dodge%20Ram/

Well I have a 9" lifted 2010 Ram and I don't off road with it at all. I bought my truck to lift it and I love it!! I don't see anything wrong with lifting a truck for the road period!! If you lift your truck and go muddin in it whatever I don't.The way I see it, Lift it if you want to and put it through hell and back or don't. It is all up to the person who ownes it.So saying its fine to lift a truck if your going to use it BS if you ask me. So it's not fine to lift your truck if your not going to use it? I use mine just fine.gets me to work and back home. I put a Rhino bedliner in mine too but i guess that is dumb too if im not going to use it right? I have won 2 first place trophies so far so someone likes my mall grapplers.

You guys kill me. lol
