So no on the phasers???? I just have to figure out what to do for springs. Apparently, the 6.1 springs need to be shimmed and the 6.4 springs are too tall. I might just buy some PWR heads and call it good

What is the plan now SprinterTech?

^Shims are no big deal. Any springs should be checked and shimmed as necessary, anyway for best performance... Head castings aren't PERFECT.

Yeah, but I don't know what the spring height is and how much shimming it would take....On a positive note....

MDS confirmed to work. He only changed the springs and cam.....Worked fine! In a 2011 nontheless!

This guy Josh on the other forum has a 2005 Ram, and his heads have shorter valve lengths than the 09's "and" make less hp. If it were posible to swap your heads out to these older heads then maybe you can do the swap in your 4'th gen Rams without clearance issues. But then you would be loosing hp with the head swap and gaining how much if any at all? I am not positive if the cam swap will work or not but I still don't think so. I am just trying to help prevent a catastrophe. I got some feed back from someone who just recently designed a set of badd ass heads (2X stronger than oem)for these things and this is what he said. Of the stock heads the 09 has the longest @ 5.175/5.125, 6.4 @5.135/5.100 and 03-08 @4.980 intakes but with different exh lengths of 4.950 and 4.925 and he doesn't seem to think it will not work either. I'm not trying to crash the party, just sharing my opp, thx

I thought they were talking about Josh, fasthemiram05(IIRC that's his screen name) who put a 6.4 cam in his 2011 5.7L. The videos ramtex posted are of Josh's truck. I think the 12.4 video is before the cam because he ran a 12.4 when I was there with him before the cam. He has jeep long tube headers(don't remember which brand), 6.4 cam now, nitrous(ran 175hp shot when I was with him), an RT converter, and I think intake/muffler and that's it I believe...oh and B&G tune and slicks and I think some small things like 180 deg tstat and mech fan delete(v6 efan). 3.55 lsd.
