What is the back up plan cam?

the back up plan is either the crower cam everyone is selling or possibly a custom grind.....i got some more info from chrysler and im pretty convinced the 6.4 cam isnt going to work without notching the pistons.....so im sitting at the drawing board again....

This is probably a super stupid question, but if your going to be getting into the motor anyways, why wouldn't you go ahead and notch the pistons so it would work? Can this be even be done? I understand you'd be tearing down the motor completely to get to the pistons and that's a lot more work. Would it be worth the work or not?

There's a lot more money involved with doing that. He should be able to save the expense of a full motor rebuild plus machine work, and just get another cam for only the cost of the cam/possibly a custom grind. He'd then only be out the cost of the cam.

Yeah it sucks it didn't work out for him, but he'll still end up with a good performer and minimal $ loss.

No....as everyone else stated it would not be worth it.....the scope of this project was a cheap alternative like the 6.1 cam was to the older 5.7....

I'm already talking to comp cams about a custom grind.....

Never even thought about doing that. Was going to get Interia Motorsports' SRT Max cam for my ride. (already have one for my SRT8) and then install it once DiabloSport releases thier tuner for the 2011 Models (which should be around SEMA)

I got a crower cam. Its 209/213 duration on 112 lsa. Should be installed by late November, early December then to SHR for tuning.

CT....How does a 209/213 differ from a stock 115 LSA to a 112 LSA....I think all the inertia cams are 115 lsa. Just curious, I don't really get cams yet!
