Ride aside, I prefer the look of a 20or 22 wheel over a 17

The price is right as well. I currently have V-Tech Raptor 17" rims and here's a pic to show you what they look like.

Hope this helps.

PS. My truck has been debadged, shorty antenna added, and N-Fab step bars added since these pics were taken.
what size tires are you running?

I usually like to look for the tire charts which can show upgrades for tires and wheels. usually upsize one size tire

i am thinking about going with moto metal 951s chrome and an aggressive tire like nitto grappler at's but i'm not sure whether i wanna stay with 20inch rims which are stock or go with the 18's,, the 18 inch show a lot more tire which i like and i want that aggressive look .. what do you guys think? and the rims and tires are cheaper

any suggestions on what i should go with.?

On my 09 1500, I had factory 20s . They rode well and mpg was 20+ hiway (74 mph or less to allow mds to kick in) and 16-17 in town w/3:55 rr. On my '12 2500, it has 17s. Good ride for the stiff springs, but 14-15 in town and 20 hiway unloaded (65mph or less) Cummins TD sucks it down going faster but it will still haul the mail when needed. I tow a travel traileer a couple times a month so the better mpg with the diesel makes it worthwile, for me.

I would like to trade my factory Dodge Ram 20" 5-spoke aluminium rims and tires from a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 for a set of 17" or 18" factory Dodge 1500 aluminium rims from the same or newer year with good tires straight across. I would also sell all four for $1,000 with tires if you want to replace one you have ruined or add the bling without getting rid of your original wheels.

The great:

You can see from the four attached pictures: these are the top-of-the-line 20" rims for a Dodge Ram Big Horn 4x4. They are nearly a $2,000 option if you get them on the truck from the factory and cost over $500 each (without tires) to get them from the parts department if you want to add them. These rims are in really good condition, true and straight and polish up wonderfully. They will add serious bling to any Ram!

The tires are Sumitomo HTR Sport 275 60R 20 with about 40-50% tread left. They are very quiet and provide great traction on the pavement. You will LOVE the handling difference between these low profile fatties and your stock 18" Dodge truck rubber. My truck handles like a sports car with these tires!

The not-so-great:

One of the rims has a very slight scuff on the rim edge from parking by braille (see photo). This pried off the weight on that tire as well, so there is a very slight vibration at 50 - 55 mph which goes away above or below that. The other three rims are nearly perfect and the other tires are well-balanced.

Please come by to see the rims in person and we can do the swap right away if you are keen. If you want to buy them then please leave a deposit and I will go buy replacements and then deliver the rims and tires to you anywhere in Santa Fe. I also have the 20" spare which has never been on the ground which I may swap if you have a similar spare.

Thank you in anticipation.

Default 17" v 20"

Guess it all depends on personal preference! I have never had a problem finding either size. Stay safe guys and Happy New Year!

I almost feel like a 17" allows for more choices for tires. I have 20's now and have considered going to a 17" as well. I just don't know lol.

17's.

More sidewall when hunting and rough South Dakota roads.
The 17's I have are a one piece aluminum rim making them somewhat more durable vs some of the 20's with chrome cladding.
Tires are a bit cheaper and more tire types available in 17's.
