Cool. I was thinking of arocketman "Blue Max" as he and some members in the FL Chapter of another forum had a GTG there today and sounded like a absolute blast of a time.
If it was him then there would prob’ be a grey durango close by too.

High 14's is TERRIBLE for a 426 hemi ANYTHING! Something like that, unless he's just spinning through first, second, and third should be at LEAST in the mid 13's depending on weight, tires, and other conditions. Something is wrong with any car running high 14's with a 426. My buddy had a Camaro with a 383 stroker motor that was having issues hooking up. He had a Viper GTS with a 250 shot of nitrous racing him. The viper was beating him by just a tad each run. Finally, my buddy bob with the camaro decided he needed not to spin in 3rd much less try to feather first and second and took off his street tires and put some MT, ET Streets on there and put a few dollars on a race. Once he hooked up, he ate the Viper for lunch. Probably had 6+ cars on him at the end of the race and was well into the low 10's. I was dying because a Viper GTS with a 250 shot you'd think would run faster than that but he was hitting on average mid-high 11's regularly.

Yeah when I first saw the truck I thought it looked very fast, but then when I said "what's it run" and he started giving a bunch of excuses instead of times I figured he wasn't proud of the numbers lol.

Although it was about 1 oclock on a near 100 degree day....If it were a cool night he probably would have been low to mid 14's...

split the difference with some 18s!

I found an 18x9 that weighs 26lbs and IIRC it was about $225 a wheel for the chrome...under $200 for the black/machined.

the 17's ride better cause the taller sidewall flexes more and gives you a better cusion. the 20's handle better cause they don't flex while cornering. the 20's look cooler though.

I got the 20s stock right now and there not bad. I want an aggressive off road look eventually. I just got it so in year or so I'm hoping to have my new rims/tires in a death metal black /w slight chrome and tires to match. Ive talked to some retailers and they said you can fit 35s on the 1500 but recommended a 2.5 " levelling kit on the front to compensate. So you could always go that route with the 20s if you really want them. =)

kay9: after looking at that cardomain you posted a link to I think that is the truck that I saw. If it's not it's extremely similar. I didn't think it had stripes, but honestly I don't think I walked in front of it, so I don't know. The wheels look the same or similar. You oughta ask if he was running someone else's slicks, and if he has a black bed cover now with "SRT8", and "426 HEMI" badging.

I read on another forum and its just other members opinions but it's noted that he pretty much does zero weight reduction and prep. Also read that the truck was"balls to the wall" or "old man cruise" with no in between. It would spin the ties doing 70.
Cool guy and member and has advised me on some questions i had for him regarding my coil covers.

I think he is thinking of doing some track prep for future track runs.
It was a HTC GTG at that event you saw him so there were quite a few Dodge Hemi FL members and he could of def' borrowed a set of slicks to use.
