Default Skyjacker Lift Kit questions...

Just bought my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd. It has a Skyjacker lift kit already installed. The Track arm is a Skyjacker as well. If I just replace the shocks (front and back) I am sure I will get a much better ride. But are there other parts associated with this particular lift kit they may need replacing. It was installed 5 or more years ago... Sorry, it is a Skyjacker 7000.

Also - How do I know what size lift kit is installed? Is there a particular measurement to take or is there a place to look for the Skyjacker's Manufacture's number???

Thanks for any help.

Greg in Maine

Welcome to the Z.

You might want to look at your upper and lower balljoints make sure they are still good. You can measure the strut spacer. If it is 4.5" or more it is a 6" lift.Yes I would start with replacing the shocks.
