Default Got My Free Oil Change Today

A few weeks ago I received a coupon for a free oil change in the mail from my dealer. Since I'm going to be pulling my travel trailer down to Texas in a week or so I wanted fresh oil and a new filter for the trip. Took my Ram to the service dept today and let them change it out and do the 23 point inspection.

I did the first oil change myself at 350 miles and noticed a metallic sheen to the oil from break-in. The oil change today was done at 2750 miles. I have enough oil on hand for one more oil change, and after that I plan to switch to full synthetic oil and go to the recommended 7500 mile OCI.

One thing I noticed was that the tech must've blown through the inspection. He checked off that the transfer case was good- and my truck is 2WD! Other than that, it was nice getting the oil changed for free. Does everyone that buys a new Ram get a free oil change coupon?

Bill

Default Free Oil Change

I didn't get a coupon but when I bought the truck they said the first one was on them. I have the diesel that is a $80 oil change so I took advantage of that several weeks ago.

I got a coupon. Tossed it away. I don't need them trying to sell me on other stuff I don't want.

The dealer I bought my truck from sent several coupons for free oil changes, and tire rotation and balance. If they would be closer I would have used them but I'm not driving over an hour for an oil change.

$80.00 is not bad, my local dealer wanted $72.00 for my hemi!!! I change it myself and use better oil for around the same price.

I didn't get a free oil change coupon, but the dealer that I bought my truck from runs $9.95 oil changes for any Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler vehicle. $9.95 wouldn't cover even half of the cost of what the 7 qts of oil and filter would cost me.

The only issue I have with that deal is the 2-3 hour wait on a Saturday morning.

Got a coupon for a free change where I bought the truck. Wish it was for my local dealer. Its abut an hour R/T for me where i bought the truck, o I may just do it myself. The added fuel cost may not be worth it haha

Take it to your local dealer- I'll bet they honor it.

Had my free oil change done at about 700 miles- I like to get the factory oil and any potential post-build junk out of the engine fast.

got the free oilchange w/ the synthetic blend.

funny part about this is:
i called ahead of time to MAKE SURE THEY USE THE SYNTHETIC BLEND. he said absolutely even for free ones. so i brought the truck in a few days later and the woman at the desk scoffed at the coupon. "we don't usually accept coupons for synthetic blends."

i said 'oh really? that's funny because this guy (pointed to guy next to her working other phone) said i could." she leaves, comes back a few minutes later and says that since the change was already done at that point her "manager approved it for me."

bunch of crap. i swear the auto business is more crooked than any other business i deal with. i'll never go back to that dealership for service. the sales team was legit but the service just lost a customer.

FYI this was Fairfield "Scap" Dodge, although for service you take your truck across the street to the Mitsubishi dealer.

didnt get free couponss but i told the dealer that i wanted 4 free services (oil changes) so they gave me a dealership card pre-loaded with $200 to use when i bring the truck in. wont be using it for the oil changes but for the more expensive maintinance work needed once my km's start racking up .
